This is Yoga for Real People.  With Real Bodies.  And Real Lives.

We explore the body, breath and mind with curiosity. We move with awareness and allow the body to unfold into the shape that works for our unique bodies.  We practice breathing techniques and meditation, to help calm the nervous system and we spend some time in relaxation, allowing the integration of the practices between body and brain.

The movements can be subtle at times, the use of props is encouraged, to help us find stability and we move more slowly, with awareness, to foster neuroplasticity and so that we do not bring harm to ourselves. 

We treat the body with gentleness, and yet we become stronger and more flexible, balance increases and we find this extends to our lives off the mat, as well.  We gently challenge but never punish the body.  We grow in physical and mental fitness and we become more resilient in life.

Think of Yoga with Julie as a time for self-care.

Yes, life is busy, but life can be richer and more balanced when we give ourselves time each week to tune in to and care for ourselves.

Yoga Schedule Early Summer 2022

Monday 10-11:30 a.m.  May 30 - July 11, $108

In this culture and season of hurry hurry, go go, allow yourself some time to chill out and soothe your soul.  Classes will be held on the shores of Pigeon River, a contemplative and calming counterpart to the heat and fiery rush of the work day.

Tuesday, June 14 & 21, 6:45-7 p.m., $15 each

Sat., June 18, 9 a.m.-12p.m.

Summer Solstice Retreat

In this half day retreat for the body and soul, we will discuss and practice techniques and wisdom from Yoga & Ayurveda, with a focus on Pitta and the summer season.  Feel calmer, more grounded and able to not only meet the challenges of life, but to meet them with steadiness and grace.

Please bring your mat, a water bottle and dress comfortably.  Bonuses and a light snack will be provided.  $75

 

Yoga Nidra will resume in the fall.

  $10 each session.  This is more of a meditation as we will not be moving.  Simply lay down and listen.

SLEEP SERIES recordings

This is not a yoga class, but a special 5 week series designed to improve sleep.  

We discussed and explored various modalities, systems and techniques to improve the ability to get to sleep and stay asleep.  The live series has ended but the recordings are available, as a package, for $100.
